TVS Iqube Expert Opinion

“The TVS iQube is a practical and easy-to-use electric scooter. It looks like a regular scooter but comes with modern features, smooth performance, and a decent top speed. It's perfect for city rides and daily use. While the top variant is a bit costly, the overall value, comfort, and reliability make it a smart pick for families.”

4/5

Unlike many EVs that come from startups, the iQube is built by TVS, which is a trusted brand with years of experience. And that experience really shows in how this scooter performs. We got a chance to ride the TVS iQube in the city for a few days, and honestly.

TVS iQube - Overview

It felt like a perfect scooter for a clean, no-fuss ride for daily commuting. From college students to parents and even grandparents, this scooter is built for all. Let’s know more about it in detail.

4.5/5

  • The iQube has a very simple and friendly design. It doesn't look too sporty or flashy but has just enough modern styling to feel fresh.
  • While riding through city traffic, we noticed that it blends in nicely but still gets curious glances from people wondering if it's an electric scooter.
  • The LED lights, clean body panels, and neat finish give it a nice look from all sides. We had the Starlight Blue variant, and it looked classy in daylight.

TVS iQube - Headlight

  • There are some small fit-and-finish issues were visible on closer inspection, like panel gaps around the visor. But nothing major that would bother you during your daily ride.
  • The foot pegs became a little loose after a few weeks of use, which made them rattle on bad roads. Easy to fix, but worth mentioning.

TVS iQube - Footpegs

5/5

  • The seat height is just 770mm, which means even shorter riders can place their feet flat on the ground with confidence.
  • During our daily city rides, we found the seat to be super soft and wide. It honestly felt like sitting on a mini sofa.

TVS iQube - Seat

  • The riding posture is upright and natural. You don’t need to lean forward or hunch over. It’s comfortable for office-goers and family riders alike.
  • The pillion seat is also well-cushioned, and we took a friend along for a 45-minute ride, both of us were happy (although we started to feel the seat softness a bit too much by the end).
  • If you're tall (above 6 feet), your knees might feel a bit close to the front panel. But it's manageable by sitting slightly back on the seat.

4/5

  • The iQube gets a 7-inch digital display that shows speed, battery level, trip meter, and riding modes. It’s easy to read even in bright sunlight.

TVS iQube - Display

  • It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts, all handy features for daily commutes.
  • We did face some slight lag or glitch when switching between menu items using the joystick, but nothing too frustrating.

TVS iQube - Tail light

  • There’s a handy reverse mode is available to move the scooter easily while parking. We used it in tight parking spots, and it works smoothly.
  • The underseat storage is 32 litres, which is quite big. It swallowed up a helmet and some groceries during a test run to the supermarket.

TVS iQube - Underseat Storage

  • The charger is a bit chunky. If you plan to carry it around, it will eat into boot space. We tried putting it in a backpack on the floorboard, which worked well.

TVS iQube - Clutch Lever

  • Sadly, there’s only one bag hook under the seat. There’s a front cubby or extra hook would’ve made it more practical.

4.5/5

  • The iQube is powered by a 4.4kW hub-mounted motor, which delivers power smoothly and quietly.
  • It’s seriously silent, you barely hear any motor whine. At first, it felt strange, but then we started to enjoy the peaceful ride, especially early in the morning.
  • There are two riding modes: Eco and Power. The Eco is perfect for city traffic, with smooth acceleration up to about 50 kmph.
  • In Power mode, the scooter easily reaches 75–78kmph, and overtaking slower traffic becomes effortless. On a short highway stretch, we maintained 70kmph comfortably.

TVS Iqube - Motor

  • What we liked most was how linear and calm the power delivery felt. It never jerked or felt overly eager, just smooth and predictable, which is ideal for a family scooter.
  • We rode with a pillion on a flyover in Eco mode, and it still climbed up without struggling. That’s something many scooters fail at.
  • The real-world range in Eco mode was around 95–100km, which is more than enough for a week of city commutes (we did 20km per day for 5 days without charging).
  • Charging from 0–80% takes about 4.5 hours with the standard 650W charger, or around 2.8 hours with the faster 950W charger (optional).

5/5

  • Despite being an EV, the iQube feels well-balanced and planted, even at higher speeds. It didn’t wobble or feel unstable, even during quick lane changes.

TVS iQube - Tyre

  • In city traffic, it’s easy to flick through gaps and quick U-turns felt light and effortless thanks to its neutral handling.
  • It weighs about 119kg, which gives it a good balance, light enough for city use, but heavy enough to feel stable on highways.
  • The suspension is slightly on the firmer side, so it handles speed breakers and potholes fairly well. But deeper potholes and rough patches can be a bit harsh.
  • We adjusted the rear preload for a better ride with a pillion, and it made the suspension a little more comfortable without affecting handling.
  • The braking is safe and predictable, with a front disc and rear drum setup. CBS works well, especially when you brake only from the rear.

TVS iQube - Brake

4/5

If you want a quiet, clean, and practical electric scooter for daily use, the TVS iQube S is a great pick. It’s easy to ride, very comfortable, and doesn’t try too hard to impress with flashy looks or tech. There are a few small downsides, like limited storage and a screen that could feel more premium, but they aren’t dealbreakers. If you're after a smart and sensible upgrade from a petrol scooter, the TVS iQube S should definitely be on your list.
