Bi-Weekly Two-Wheeler Update: Simple Energy, Bajaj, Hero, & Honda Make Headlines

The Indian two-wheeler industry remained busy over the past weeks, with several key announcements covering upcoming launches, price revisions, and future product plans.

Simple Energy confirmed the launch date of its first family electric scooter, while Hero MotoCorp reduced the price of the HF Deluxe Canvas Black in select states.

Bajaj Auto also revealed the launch timeline for its first electric motorcycle, Avore Electric announced its debut e-bike, and Norton Motorcycles moved a step closer to its India launch with the Atlas adventure motorcycle. Meanwhile, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India unveiled a lineup of upcoming models planned for the Indian market.

Together, these developments highlight how manufacturers are strengthening their presence across commuter, premium, adventure, and electric two-wheeler segments.

Simple Energy Enters the Family Scooter Segment

Simple Energy has confirmed that it will unveil its first family electric scooter on September 2, 2026. Unlike the performance-focused Simple One and Simple Ultra, the upcoming model is designed for everyday commuting and family use.

The company has not revealed its battery, range, or price yet. However, it says the scooter has been developed entirely by its in-house R&D team. Simple Energy also highlighted its heavy rare earth-free electric motor technology and lifetime warranty on the battery and motor, signalling its focus on long-term ownership. Hero Cuts HF Deluxe Price in Four States

Hero MotoCorp has reduced the price of the HF Deluxe Canvas Black to Rs. 59,999, making it more affordable than its original launch price in 2023. The revised price is currently available only in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.

The motorcycle continues with the same 97.2cc engine, producing 7.8 PS and 8.05 Nm, along with a four-speed gearbox. While Hero has not explained the reason behind the price reduction, the move comes as competition intensifies in the entry-level commuter motorcycle segment.

Bajaj Set to Enter the Electric Bike Battle

Bajaj Auto has also confirmed that its first electric motorcycle is on track for launch during FY28. The company plans to introduce it in export markets first before bringing it to India. The bike is expected to target everyday commuters with performance similar to a 150cc petrol motorcycle.

Avore Electric's First EV Bike

Meanwhile, Ahmedabad-based Avore Electric will launch its first electric motorcycle on July 28. The upcoming bike will feature a 5 kWh battery, a 10.5 kW motor, sporty styling, and an expected riding range of over 120 km on a full charge.

Norton Atlas Nears India Debut

Norton Motorcycles is preparing to begin bookings for the Atlas in India ahead of its expected launch in the coming months. The premium adventure motorcycle will be sold through dedicated Norton dealerships, while production will take place at TVS Motor's Hosur facility.

Powered by a 585cc parallel-twin engine, the Atlas is expected to be priced between Rs. 5.50 lakh and Rs. 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers will get two variants, including the road-focused Atlas GT, with the Atlas Apex expected to join the lineup later.

Honda Unveils 10-Model Lineup

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled a 10-model lineup for India, giving buyers a glimpse of the brand's future plans across scooters, adventure bikes, cruisers, and electric mobility.

The upcoming models include the ADV160 adventure scooter, CB500, refreshed CB350 range, Rebel 500 cruiser, Rebel 300 cruiser, XR300L, XR300 Rally, and Honda QC3 electric scooter.

From affordable commuter motorcycles to premium adventure bikes and new electric two-wheelers, these developments have shown how quickly India's motorcycle market is evolving.
